Senior Beth Mendenhall, best known for her columns in the K-State Collegian, is quite the speaker as well. Mendenhall, along with junior Derek Ziegler won the 2011 Cross-Examination Debate Association's national tournament in Binghampton, N.Y.
This the team's third national championship since 1991.
Ziegler and Mendenall defeated a team from Towson University to claim the championship.
The senior racked up two more awards at the event.
Mendenhall was also named a All-American and Academic All-American.
Next up for Mendenhall and her teammates is a trip to American Forensic Association's National Debate Tournament. The tournament will take place from march 24-28 and will be held at the University of Texas-Dallas.
